Furnishing your new apartment

Your funding agency will need a copy of the signed lease and the landlord's confirmation of residency. When you take these to your benefits provider, ask them about the furnishings in your flat. In some cases you will get financial help to do this if you do not already own your own furniture. Jobcenter customers can apply for initial furnishing. It takes some time for applications to be checked and for the money to reach your account. That's why you should apply as early as possible.
